Welcome to the Millennium: Ending Domestic Violence web site. In August 1999, practitioners, researchers, academicians, and administrators from around the country assembled at the The Next Millennium Conference: Ending Domestic Violence to reflect on the historical milestones of the domestic violence movement: celebration of advances made in combating, and re-commitment to eliminating domestic violence.

Despite the accomplishments, the sobering fact is that domestic violence continues, destroying individuals and families, irrespective of ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, age, or religion. As a follow-up to the 1999 conference, we are discussing several smaller events designed to continue the spirit and momentum the August conference generated. In addition, we are pleased to present this web site as an outreach and informational resource. Your comments are welcome.

As you enter the Millennium, you will find a calendar of events, web links to related organizations, historical information and much more.

It is my hope that this site will be a tool to assist us to continue working together to end domestic violence in the next millennium.

Sincerely,
